The Pennsylvania State Fair Queen Program

Each January, the Pennsylvania State Fair Queen Program takes place during the Pennsylvania State Associate of County Fair's Convention in Hershey Pennsylvania. County fairs and festivals from across the state send Fair Queens as their representatives to compete in the competition. An average year can see as many as 60 competitors, with 2026 boasting a recorded breaking 66 contestants for the annual contest. The Pennsylvania State Fair Queen Program names a panel of five finalist and crowns a State Fair Queen as well as an Alternate.

Since our beginning, the Clearfield County Fair Queen Program has had many successful years at the state competition! Please see our state title holders, finalists, and non-judged award winners below!

2000 Pennsylvania State Fair Queen

Jana Duttry

Jana Duttry was Clearfield County's first, and so far only, State Fair Queen in 2000. Jana served as the 1999 Clearfield County Fair Queen and was also the Clearfield County Fair Queen 1st Runner Up in 1997.

Pennsylvania State Fair Queen Alternates

The Clearfield County Fair Queen Program has been home to three alternate state fair queens.

Jamie Orcutt - 2003

Jamie served as the 2002 Clearfield County Fair Queen and was named the Pennsylvania State Fair Queen Alternate in 2003, becoming the first state alternate for Clearfield County!

Leah Carr - 2009

Leah Carr served as the 2008 Clearfield County Fair Queen and was named the Pennsylvania State Fair Queen Alternate in 2009.

Rachel Duke - 2017

Rachel Duke served as the 2016 Clearfield County Fair Queen and was named the Pennsylvania State Fair Queen Alternate in 2017.

Pennsylvania State Fair Queen Top Five Finalist

Each year, the Pennsylvania State Fair Queen Competition selects five finalists from the pool of over sixty fair queens. After being selected, these contestants must answer an impromptu question in front of the panel of three judges and an audience of nearly one thousand people. The Clearfield County Fair Queen Program is proud of the seven young women who have been named as Top Five Finalist in the past.

Top Ten Finalist

2016 was the only year in the history of the Pennsylvania State Fair Queen Program that saw the selection of top ten finalist. That year, our 2015 Clearfield County Fair Queen was one of the ten!

Miss Congeniality

Each year, one contestant is awarded the title of Miss Congeniality. This award is not selected by the judges but voted on by the contestants. The Clearfield County Fair Queen Program has had two Queens chosen as Miss Congeniality by her peers.
